ENDORSEMENT PROCESS

The National Organization for Women is a grassroots feminist organization, which means endorsements originate from the NOW members on the ground where a race is taking place.

Local, state, and federal NOW endorsements are highly valuable and assure voters these candidates take uncompromising stands on feminist issues. No other PACs expect candidates to take such strong stands on such a wide range of issues. These issues include, but are not limited to:

  • Reproductive rights and justice

  • Economic justice

  • Ending violence against women

  • Racial justice

  • LGBTQIA+ rights

  • Constitutional equality

  • Centering women in political and policy conversations

  • Conducting political work through an intersectional feminist lens

federal endorsements

NOW PAC is the endorsing body for all federal candidates (President, U.S. Senate, House of Representatives). State and local chapters do not endorse federal candidates, but the strength of our endorsement lies in the support and enthusiasm that our members bring to the campaigns of endorsed candidates.

NOW PAC relies on recommendations from NOW state leaders and each state develops its own rigorous process to evaluate federal candidates’ records and positions.

Please note that a mention, retweet, or repost on our official social media platforms DO NOT equal an endorsement of your candidacy.

If you have a question in regards to a federal endorsement, such as how to apply, please contact our Political Director at elections@now.org.

state/local endorsements

All state-level endorsements are made by NOW state and chapter leaders, who develop their own rigorous process to evaluate state or local candidates’ records and positions. If you are seeking a local endorsement, please contact elections@now.org to be connected with the correct state chapter.
